Clean toys last longer and are more comfortable to use. It only takes a minute.
Every time
- Check the label first. Is the toy waterproof, splash-proof or not water-resistant at all? Never submerge a toy that isn't waterproof.
- Wash with warm water and a mild, unscented soap, or spray with a toy cleaner such as Wicked Cleene Antibacterial Unscented Toy Cleaner 4.0oz ($14.95) or Le Wand Toy Cleaner 4oz ($16.99).
- Rinse (if waterproof) or wipe with a damp cloth.
- Dry completely with a clean, lint-free towel or let it air-dry.
- Store it somewhere clean and dry, ideally in its own pouch.
Don'ts
- Don't use harsh cleaners, alcohol or bleach on silicone; they can damage the surface.
- Don't boil toys with motors.
- Don't store different materials touching each other, especially soft TPE/jelly toys against silicone.
Storage ideas
- The pouch the toy came with is fine.
- A lockable or discreet toy bag such as Liberator Zappa Discreet Toy Bag Grape ($59.95) keeps things private.
- Some people use a UV sanitizing pouch such as B Vibe UV Sterilizer Pouch ($99.95) for extra peace of mind.
Batteries and charging
- Charge rechargeable toys fully before the first use, and every few months if stored.
- Remove batteries from battery-powered toys before storing them.
